Exploration, excitement and experiences. That’s what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. And no, you don’t have to be advanced to do it. It’s designed so you can go straight into it after the open water diver course.

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your professional instructor.

This course builds on what you have already learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving.

What you will learn

  • Practical aspects of deep diving.
  • Physiological effects of deeper scuba diving.
  • More ways to use your underwater compass.
  • How to navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.
  • And much, much more, depending on the Adventure Dives you choose.

Course pre-requisites

  • Minimum 15 years old (12 years for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver).
  • Have a PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent.

Course options

Flexible day trip advanced open water course

The flexible day trip advanced open water course can be completed on any scheduled day trip to either Great Barrier Reef or Yongala wreck.

Inclusions

  • 5 training dives such as navigation, peak performance buoyancy, underwater naturalist, wreck and deep adventure dives

Flexible day trip advanced open water course: $295 per person

Course dates

The Advanced Open Water Course is a flexible course that you can start and complete whenever it suits you.

  • Day trips to the Great Barrier Reef are scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays (Mondays in high season June to October).
  • Day trips to the SS Yongala wreck are scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Liveaboard advanced open water course

This advanced open water course can be completed on any of our scheduled liveaboard trips to Great Barrier Reef, Yongala wreck, Museum of Underwater Art or a combination of these dive destinations.
